You guys know that pregnancy has most definitely changed my fashion sense. I don’t easily wear the outfits I used to, and my color palette has taken a complete 180 degree turn in the past few months! I used to be all about bright colors, in fact brighter the color or more colorful an outfit, the better for me. But lately, I have been embracing neutral tones a lot more and colors that I can easily switch up with different outfits. With limited wardrobe choices that comes with a growing belly, faux leather leggings are my go-to these days. They are comfy, stylish and go with a whole out of outfits! What more does a girl need? So an all black look was definitely on the cards for me.. and while I say that, if you’re one of them who cringes at the thought of an all black look for fear of looking very gothic, I hear you! Add a super dark lip to it, and you’ll like a member of Evanescence. Well, if you’re trying to go for that kind of a look, that’s all great but if you’re not, read on for some tips on how you can accessorize an all black look to make it look less gothic and more chic –
- A statement necklace – I am the biggest fan of statement necklaces! This has been one accessory that I have always relied on to instantly spruce up a drab look. Whether it is a casual look or a dressy one, don’t underestimate the glam quotient of a statement necklace!
- Chic bags – A super chic bag does as much good to an outfit as does a statement necklace. You can choose to pair your outfit with a plain bright or dark colored bag, depending on the season or you can choose one with some design on it. Like a great polka dotted print or such.
- A hat – Whether it is summer or winter or fall, hats are an all year round accessory! You can obviously choose darker shades for the gloomier months – like black, gray or burgundy but don’t shy away from hats during summer as well! A casual beige beachy hat is my favorite for the warmer times!
- Statement shoes – Shoes, you may ask? Think leopard print, burgundy velvet high heels, bright pink lace ups.. get it?
