See, here’s the thing. I have completely gone from a color obsessed to a basic tones kinda girl now. I don’t just see the practicality of basics now but also naturally tend to gravitate towards such pieces. They give me comfort and keep me warm in the predictability of knowing how they’ll look when paired with different outfits. So much so, that I have been questioning my old fashion tastes quite a bit these days. While color is great no doubt, but when even your outerwear has to be a bright red that you realize does not necessarily fit in with your already colorful wardrobe, I am like “girl, WHAT were you thinking?”. So lately, I have been getting more of such investment pieces that I can easily switch up with different looks. Like this Black coat from Rosegal and OTK boots from Zaful. These two are giving my very colorful closet some much needed darkness. Lol. But seriously, these pieces are simple yet stylish and you know the best part – they go with EVERYTHING!

Yay for the OTK boots! They were my favourite acquisition last winter and I can’t wait to bring them out when it starts to get cold in Sydney (I’m crazy sweating right now). Definitely taking a page from your book and adding a subtle chic hint of colour with the scarf.
